Diva’s Weekly Challenge #113

Weekly Challenge #113: String Theory vs ‘Hip to be Square’

The I Am the Diva  challenge for this week was great fun!  She asked us to draw squares within other squares as our strings and then fill in with the Zentangle patterns of our choice.  This exercise turned out to be so relaxing and enjoyable!  Confession: Sometimes I don’t care for a pattern and won’t bother to practice it because I would rather draw the patterns that are more appealing to me.  That is why I love the Diva Challenge!  She continues to keep us in the game with her challenges and I am truly practicing more than ever before!  The Diva Challenge is a labor of love.  Should any of you be interested in the weekly challenge, check out www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.com for more information.  Laura – You rock, girl!

Neither of these tiles took longer than fifteen minutes to do and the “fun factor” was quite high!

It is always fun to do ‘Top Ten Tuesday’ and share with everyone some of my favorite things for the week.  Hope you enjoy these!

This statement is so true and we all need great friends.
I am grateful for all of mine!

Isn’t this a cute handmade tile? It was in a beautiful Easter bag full of all kinds of goodies
from one of my closest and dear friends who is also my “God Mother.”

Super heroines

How charming are the Powerpuff Girls?  Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles.
This precious threesome have kept the city of Townsville safe
from the likes of Mojo Jojo  and Fuzzy Lumpkins for more than a decade.
Plus, they’re just so cute!  Girl Power is a good thing!

grumpy cat 2

Do you know who ‘Grumpy Cat’ is?  She made her debut on several morning
television shows a couple of weeks ago and was fabulous!  Even though she was
born with a frown, don’t let that fool you.  Her sweet personality is over the moon!  Who wouldn’t
love ‘Grumpy Cat?’  She even has her own line of t-shirts and coffee mugs!

grumpy cat 1

Isn’t this oil beautiful? Very much like VanGogh’s style from Starry Night.
Just can’t get enough of that ‘Grumpy cat!’

Beautiful flowers sent to me from my husband’s office wishing me a healthy recovery.
Love their smell….  How creative is our God with pink? Just look at those hydrangeas!
Who doesn’t love Mother Teresa?  She was a beautiful soul and the
world could use more compassionate hearts like hers.
My favorite Zentangle item out of all of the supplies I have EVER purchased
has to be the Zentangle Kit.  It has an instruction booklet and companion DVD,
thirty-four art tiles, two Sekura pens, pencils and sharpener, a pattern legend,
and all of it comes inside a FANTASTIC box.  This kit makes a great gift and is
perfect for someone who doesn’t have the time to take a Saturday Beginner’s
Class.   It is also great just to have if you already draw Zentangle.  Let me know
if you would like to order one!  They are $49 and the BEST VALUE ever.

be still
A short, but powerful scripture.  I spent a lot of quiet time with
God this past week while in the hospital.  He sent me wonderful nurses!
Thank you to my great circle of Sister-friends for all of the emails, cards,
calls,  prayers and well-wishes.  Love all of you!
Be kind to one another,

jacque sig

Wow! 15 minutes? That’s amazing. I’ve not yet been able to accomplish that except once when the Diva challenged us; and I spent 10 minutes planning before I started and felt rushed all the way through it. I also really like your top 10s. All are great! I especially love the pictures of the dogs since I have to Chis. I didn’t know about your hospital stay, but I’m glad to hear you are recovering well.

Your square within a square tiles are great. Especially like your added color version with all the auras. Faves are great especially grumpy kitty!

Your tiles are both beautiful. The rest of your post is fun, beautiful and (some) emotional, thanks for sharing.

Love how you created such lovely tiles in such a short time. I like the tangles you selected and the color really gives the tile some pizazz.
